Instructions on how to perform Shift Lock Drift
- To perform Shift Lock Drift, the driver should take his car to a turn at high speed, such that if the car fails to drift, the car should understeer.
- The driver should turn the wheels into the turn and downshift into a lower gear, probably the second gear, quickly.
- The quick downshift will help the driver to put an extra stress on the driveline, which slows down the car there by increasing the rpm of the engine.
- Straight after the downshift, quickly get on the throttle, so that it will help to break the traction on the wheels thus by sending the car into a drift.
- When the driver feels that the rear end of the car kicking out, quickly countersteer the wheels to face straight with the road. As long as the wheels of the car keep moving, the car will pull in the direction of the front wheels. Keep throttling. The car will be in an extremely oversteered condition and the car will spin our or exit out of the road, if the driver press the brakes or letoff the throttle.
- After completing the drift, when the driver wishes to straighten out the car, straighten out the wheels of the car and let off the throttle smoothly as the car kicks in line behind the front tires of the car.
