The BHP of the car increases with the pressure decrease in the exhaust system of the car, and hence getting rid of the exhaust fumes is really important. The gases will be cleared out of the exhaust system much faster, if the inside of the exhaust is polished.

An exhaust with a large diameter is also preferred, as it will lower the pressure required to expel the air from the exhaust, thus by making the whole process quicker in addition to the advantage that a only a lower push is needed. The catalytic converters suck power of the car by slowing down the airflow, by typically reducing an overall power of 4 bhp, but still sadly a requirement for today’s cars. But it can be improved by using a high flow sports cat or and off road only de cat pipe.

Like the length of the primary and secondary, the shape of the exhaust manifold (painted red in the figure) is also critical and this is something best left to the calculation of experts. To improvise the standard exhaust of the car, smooth out the interior of the exhaust with a grinding wheel on a drill or get a purpose build stainless steel unit. Though most sports silencers add a deep roar to the exhaust, it does little tot he overall experience. The standard exhaust, with its rear silencer removed can be categorized as one of the best exhausts. The center expansion section becomes larger to help muffle the sound and this really help to improve the things.
